ASAHI embodies the quiet prestige and profound elegance that have long distinguished Kyoto’s finest teas.

Cultivated in Wazuka, Kyoto, and sourced from a single origin, this first-harvest matcha is crafted exclusively from the Asahi cultivar. Among Kyoto’s most distinguished tea cultivars, Asahi has long been prized for traditional tea ceremonies, where exceptional depth, balance, and refinement are essential.

Grown in Wazuka, one of Kyoto’s most celebrated tea-growing regions, the tea gardens benefit from cool morning mists and pronounced day-to-night temperature variations. These natural conditions foster remarkable sweetness, aromatic complexity, and the deep umami for which Wazuka tea is renowned.

Carefully shade-grown before harvest and patiently stone-milled into an exceptionally fine powder, the tea develops a velvety texture and remarkable depth while preserving the cultivar’s natural purity and elegance.

A refined floral aroma gives way to deep umami, elegant sweetness, and a gentle, rounded bitterness that brings harmony without distraction. Notes of fresh cream, steamed chestnut, and sweet bean unfold across a rich, silky body, leading to a long, lingering finish with exceptional balance and quiet elegance.

Graceful, profound, and quietly enduring, ASAHI reflects the timeless artistry and enduring character of Kyoto’s tea tradition.
